Frequently asked questions

Everything people usually ask about Do You Know Well, the two-player card game about how well you know the people closest to you. Still stuck? Learn how to play or read about the project.

Is Do You Know Well free?
Yes. The game is completely free. Play Local needs no account at all. Play Online needs a free account so a partner can join by link, but there is no payment, no subscription, and no ads.
How do you play?
Two people share one phone, or play online by link. One person answers questions about themselves while the other guesses their answers, then you swap. At the end you see a score for how well you match.
Is it only for couples?
No. There are separate question decks for a partner, a friend, a brother or sister, family members, and even a pet, so you can play it with almost anyone close to you.
Are my answers private?
In Play Local nothing ever leaves your device. In Play Online the subject name, answers, and guesses are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM using a key generated fresh for each session, and sessions are automatically deleted within 48 hours. There are no advertising networks, marketing pixels, or analytics trackers.
Can we play long-distance?
Yes. Play Online lets you send your partner a private link and a 4-digit join code, so you can play from different places. Answers stay encrypted and only the score and details you choose to reveal are shared.
How many questions are there?
Hundreds of curated questions, with a dedicated deck of 50 for each relationship type: partner, friend, brother, sister, family, and pet. Questions avoid sensitive personal details by design.
Do I need to install an app?
No. Do You Know Well runs in your web browser on a phone, tablet, or computer. You can add it to your home screen for quick access, but there is nothing to download from an app store.
How many people can play?
Two players take part in each round, one answering and one guessing, then you switch roles.
What age is it for?
Do You Know Well is intended for players aged 17 or older.
